Our new release, Ingrid, is a fun gathered panel dress, with asymmetric seams and a centre front bust tuck. With midi and mini lengths to choose from and a top option too, Ingrid is a versatile pattern. Ingrid has two sleeves to choose from; a super cool wide tee sleeve, or for those of you embracing big sleeves we have a voluminous gathered cuff option too – it’s so fun!

One of the most interesting details about Ingrid is that there are no bust darts. Instead, Ingrid has an open bust tuck, which acts in place of a standard dart. This is a fun and sculptural way of fitting around bust curves. Our testers put the bust tuck instructions through their paces, helping us to iron out the finer detail to get them just right for you.

After testing, we packed in lots more information to help you cut and sew Ingrid more easily. We also updated the back keyhole on the pattern grade, as gaping at the back opening was a common fit issue. We can’t thank our testers enough for their patience and help with Ingrid - we are so proud of the final version.

Ingrid works well in woven fabrics that can hold and show off the gathers and bust tuck. The style sews beautifully in cotton lawn but was tested in everything from fine cord to tencel, linen, and denim too. I’m sure you will find lots of fabric inspiration from our testers makes below. You may notice our photoshoot samples were influenced by our testers fabric choices, it would appear that you can’t go wrong with a white Ingrid top like Kirsten’s above. Or a green dress either…
